Cameron Mitchell's Pearl opens in Short North

Cameron Mitchell Restaurants LLC’s new nameplate opens for dinner Tuesday. The Pearl, in the works since last spring, is a gastropub and oyster house, offering an upscale tavern experience, craft beers and cocktails.

The menu includes snacks such as crispy cheese curds and deviled eggs and appetizers such as a house-made sausage sampler. The entree selection has everything from Southern-style fried chicken to steak and fish dishes to a Cuban pork confit. There’s also plenty of seafood – cold and hot oysters, blue crab and shrimp, among other choices.

According to a press release from the Columbus-based company, servers and the bar chef are certified cicerones, the beer equivalent of a sommelier.

The restaurant at 641 N. High St., the former Burgundy Room space next to Lemongrass, is dinner-only during the week and will add weekend brunch starting at 10 a.m. on March 9. Happy hour, with half-off drafts and snacks, is 4-6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
