M Awarded AAA Four Diamond Award

The AAA auto club has shown some love in the form of diamonds given to a familiar batch of highly rated restaurants and hotels in Columbus.

Five hotels and two restaurants have once again received the distinguished AAA Four Diamond Award.

Those hotels repeating their touted performance are: the Westin Columbus/Great Southern Hotel, a winner since 1997; Hilton Columbus at Easton (2001); Renaissance Downtown Columbus (2008); Hilton Columbus at Polaris (2009); and the Embassy Suites Columbus Airport (2011).

The Refectory (1995) on Bethel Road and M in the Miranova office building downtown were the restaurant recipients.

According to an AAA news release, just five percent of the more than 30,000 AAA Diamond-rated lodgings throughout North America receive the Four Diamond designation. Across Ohio, only 14 lodgings received the AAA Four Diamond rating.

And juts one property, Inn Walden in Aurora, earned a Five Diamond rating.

On the restaurant side, only three percent of the AAA Diamond-rated restaurants earned the Four Diamond rating. In Ohio, 10 restaurants earned the distinction.
