Sous Chef | Cap City Gahanna
Kelby Muehlfeld began working for Cameron Mitchell Restaurants five years ago as a line cook at Marcella’s Polaris. He was quickly promoted to supervisor at Marcella’s and then transferred to Molly Woo’s, where he spent almost four years as sous chef before moving to Cap City Gahanna where he is currently working as sous chef.
Kelby worked for two years under Chef Hartmut Handke after studying culinary arts at Hocking College. He then relocated to Naples where he worked at Baleen, a restaurant in the La Playa Beach and Golf Resort in Naples, Florida.
Upon his return to Columbus, Kelby sought employment at CMR after hearing from current associates about the opportunity for growth within the company for those who are driven and serious about a career in the industry. This opportunity for growth and the relationship between the home office team and the restaurant associates are what Kelby says sets CMR apart from other restaurant companies.
He also cites the diversity of restaurant concepts within the company as a great way for chefs to gain experience with various different cuisines and cultures.
