Heather Leonard, Vice President of Marketing & Operating Partner
As vice president of marketing for Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, Heather Leonard sets and leads the company’s overall marketing strategy for multiple concepts and directs six members of the marketing group, as well as a number of supporting local and national agency teams. A 16-year veteran of the company, she joined Cameron Mitchell Restaurants in July 2001, overseeing regional marketing, and was named an operating partner just five years later.
In 2010, Heather assumed her present role, in which she guides the planning and implementation of marketing initiatives for the company’s numerous central Ohio restaurant concepts and the nationally recognized Ocean Prime concept, which has locations in major metropolitan markets including New York City and Beverly Hills.
Heather also oversees the marketing for Cameron Mitchell Premier Events in Columbus, which provides event planning and catering in private locations and a number of event venues. She shares her expertise in marketing by providing counsel to the marketing team for Rusty Bucket Restaurant & Tavern, a sister company to Cameron Mitchell Restaurants with more than 20 locations nationwide.
Heather recognizes that Cameron Mitchell Restaurants’ vibrant culture and talented colleagues have been integral to her tenure and success with the company. She enjoys the variety of marketing approaches required by a multi-concept restaurant company where “no day is the same.” Her prior experience in advertising and public relations has influenced her management of strategic media placement, brand development and corporate communications.
In 2010, Heather was the recipient of the Cameron Mitchell Leadership Award, given to an associate who demonstrates outstanding service to the company.
Heather was raised in Cincinnati, lived and worked in Chicago and then moved to Columbus, Ohio, where she fell in love with the city. She is a graduate of The University of Cincinnati and Miami University. Heather enjoys volunteering with the Buckeye Chapter of the National MS Society and is a Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) and co-sector leader for the Experience Dedicated Destination (EDD) program of Experience Columbus. She previously served on the board of the Short North Arts District, and she was proud to be a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio, as well as a mentor for Project Mentor. Heather resides in German Village with her husband, Todd, and their two dogs.
