Stacey L. Connaughton, Vice President, Corporate Affairs
As Cameron Mitchell Restaurants’ (CMR) vice president of corporate affairs and executive assistant to founder and CEO, Cameron Mitchell, Stacey Connaughton works closely with Cameron on a daily basis on his work overseeing the company’s strategic direction and special projects. Stacey also manages the company’s investor relations, oversees restaurant licensing, home office administration, and charitable contributions as well as participates in new store leases and contract negotiations. As a member of the company’s Executive Committee, she is also directly active in the company’s strategic planning.
Connaughton is a day one associate having joined CMR just prior to the opening of its first restaurant, Cameron's American Bistro, in 1993. She began as the company's accountant performing all administrative, accounting and human resource functions, and advanced to her current position as Vice President of Corporate Affairs as the company grew.
Connaughton’s long tenure with the company has made her the ‘de facto’ company historian, responsible for ensuring that CMR’s rich culture and historical learnings are deeply engrained in associates’ understanding of and commitment to the company. In fact, during her tenure at CMR, Connaughton has been involved in the opening of nearly 100 restaurants.
Prior to joining Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, Connaughton spent eight years with Columbus-based Micro Resources/Resource One, which she joined as Accounting Manager in its start-up phase and helped grow to become a $30 million computer systems reseller. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio, while working full-time and raising a family.
Stacey is committed to helping disadvantaged women and children, having previously served on the board of Northside Child and Family Development Center for many years, and supporting local organizations such as The United Way; The Women’s Fund; Boys and Girls Club of Columbus; and Big Brothers, Big Sisters. A lifelong Buckeye fan, when not working, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her three grandchildren. Her favorite CMR dish is the Cameron’s walleye. Yum!
